Most patients attend primary care clinics (GP surgery’s) for general medical conditions requiring scripts for medications that have been prescribed to control symptoms or manage the disease. This type of medicine is referred to as general medicine and in terms of a specialist of general medicine a GP may refer a complex patient to a general physician.
