There are many different conditions relating to the ears, nose and throat and a large variety of symptoms. Some common ear nose and throat conditions include ear infections, tinnitus, sinusitis, nose bleeds, croup, sleep apnoea and tonsillitis.
- Ear infections: aka Otitis Media. The most common symptom is pain/pressure in the ear, but other symptoms can include, fever, hearing difficulty, ear discharge and loss of balance. Children may also not be interested in food and be unusually “clingy” or unhappy.
We provide support, intervention and education for managing ear infections, including specialist referrals when required.
- Tonsillitis: People often experience painful swallowing, fever, body aches and fatigue, however, a sign of tonsillitis includes swollen tonsils, with white patches on the tonsils or back of the throat. We can assist with treatment and specialist referral when required.
- Sinusitis: an infection of the sinuses around your nose and eyes. Sinusitis often occurs with a cold, but if it lasts longer than 12 weeks, it can be considered chronic sinusitis and can be caused by allergies. Symptoms of sinusitis include headache, pressure, nasal discharge, fever, fatigue, molar tooth ache. We can help diagnose and treat sinus allergies which can lead to the development of asthma in the long term.
